ASIA-EUROPE YOUTH COOPERATION PLATFORM

HUMAN RIGHTS – HUMAN WRONGS

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH NEWSLETTER

Background Information and Project Description

The situation with Human Rights is pretty tense. Violations are being registered everywhere, in every country regardless of their development and economic level as well as geographical situation. At the same time, many young people feel uninspired to participate in decision-making that has the potential to combat these violations. Human Rights Education is serving to fight the apathy felt by young people, raising awareness of Human Rights issues and helping them to understand the many ways in which these moral and legal standards are being violated all over the world.

Young people must feel empowered in order to take a stand on the issues going on around them. They must also feel that they are being listened to.

The ”Human Rights-Human Wrongs“ International Newsletter, within the framework of the Asia-Europe Youth Cooperation Platform, presents young Human Rights activists with the opportunity to be involved in monitoring and reporting Human Rights issues in their own countries.

The Newsletter will raise a voice to be heard by thousands of people from all around the world. Every young person will have chance to report about human rights violation in his/her country and deliver that information to international and intergovernmental organizations which were established with the aim to protect those rights.

In the initial stage of the project, information about the Newsletter will be disseminated among organizations and youth located on Eurasia continent and will be based on capacities of the Asia-Europe Youth Cooperation Platform (AEYCP), though the articles will be accepted from all over the world.

So what are we proposing???

If you are a young person or a youth organization, concerned about the on-going negative processes and human sufferings around you, do not waste time making comments about your disappointments in your Facebook status or arguing in various blogs and forums. Instead, write an article and send to us!

The monthly ”Human Rights – Human Wrongs“ International Youth Newsletter, based on your articles and photos, will be designed and disseminated among Local and International Organizations, National Governments, Human Rights Organizations, Newspapers & Media Sources and the general population of all continents. Simply become a Human Rights Monitoring Implementer in your community and raise your voice of protest with thousands of other young people who do not agree with things happening around us.
